Well, the secret's FINALLY out. For the past 9 months, I've been incubating a little bundle of joy and it's now in its final trimester. No, it's definitely not what you may think. 

Introducing My Life As Fine Art  Red Bank, New Jersey STUDIO & SPA.  

It's a beautiful space, where I have the ability to create the most amazing experience for my clients.

This is a house of worship of a different kind, where I can help my clients feel revered and honored, for the day...But in a way that will change their life.

Soaring ceilings and beautiful natural light flood the studio in a gorgeous fashion.

Finding and building this space has been a cathartic journey, a project of the soul that helps me deliver the very BEST photography experience in New Jersey and New York City.  It's also a prime destination for clients who travel and visit from beyond to indulge in the hip, hot town of Red Bank, New Jersey 
 
But to me, this is so much more than a studio space in New Jersey. THIS IS A REBIRTH. I

It is a chance to create epic moments and profound memories in the privacy of this enclave. 
It's a place where I can, without boundaries, create beautiful art that's meaningful and memorable.

It's not showy, pretentious or overindulgent. It's just... Heavenly.

And, once all the beautiful treasures of found antiques and luxe, up-cycled furniture are appointed, it will be ultimately swoon-worthy.

As a NYC + New Jersey Boudoir Photographer, I get the privilege of working with some exceptionally stylish women. Despite their excellent fashion sense, they still always seem to seem nervous about shopping for their boudoir session...and want to know how they can look tasteful and sexy in their boudoir pics.

One question I like to ask clients in their pre- boudoir photo shoot consultation is, "What's your favorite era?"  Meaning, I am very interested to know what style they identify with in women's fashion history. For many, it is the Art Deco period, characterized by vintage boudoir of the mid to late 1920's. 

Flowing gossamer, sheer silks and luxe lace all add to the details of this terrifically styled session. With the beautiful work of my hair and makeup artist Miranda Richards, the look is retro yet uniquely contemporary. It's one of my favorite ways to style a session.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY BOUDOIR PHOTO SHOOT?

As a NYC  and a New Jersey boudoir photographer who likes to shoot classy, elegant boudoir photo shoots, it's one of the questions I get asked the most frequently. 

I find that many women like to wear black for at least one of their lingerie wardrobe choices. As a boudoir photographer, I will say it's an excellent choice because black lingerie can really flatter any body type, as well as add to the dramatic mood of the photo shoot. 

The devil IS in the details, and choosing high-end, highly detailed lingerie choices for your wardrobe will translate quite beautifully.

My friend Denise messaged me privately, perhaps triggered by my recent post about What to Get Your Boyfriend or Husband for Valentine's Day. "I am afraid to even ask what you're doing today," she said. 

This Valentine's Day, I spent my day photographing a beautiful couple in Red Bank, New Jersey as part of my boudoir photography deals for NYC and New Jersey.

This exclusive first-time event included a penthouse suite at the beautiful Oyster Point Hotel, with complimentary Hair and Makeup by Makeup Artistry by Miranda Richards, complimentary wardrobe and accessories and dinner reservations for two at Char on Broad Street in Red Bank.

 Best known for my New Jersey Boudoir Photography, most people do not think of me when it comes to photographing couples. But why not? Couples Boudoir pictures are gaining popularity just like any other intimate portraiture. With busy day to day lives, and life's little complications thrown in our way, it is a simple, beautiful and unusual way to reconnect. It's purely an elegant or classy boudoir session that celebrates moments of intimacy and love. What better more romantic way for a couple to spend a Valentine's Day? 

Upon arrival, we started with boudoir hair and makeup. Miranda created a look for my client that was playful, daring and flirtatious all at the same time. With smoky eyes, tousled hair and a killer wardrobe, we were well on our way to creating something epic. 

Next we mapped out a storyline for the afternoon. Rather than just have the couple kiss and be intimate in front of me, we felt it would be more interesting to create a visual story... one that would allow them to be "actors" in their very own idea of a perfect evening.

It was fantasy and reality at the same time. The "acting" part allowed them to play a role, without feeling uncomfortable kissing, hugging or touching in front of another person. It is all very conservative, I assured them, even though the outcome (couples boudoir pictures) will be evocative and sexy. I would even occasionally yell "Cut!" so that we could move on to our next wardrobe or "set". 

All in all, it was a very elegant boudoir photography experience for this longtime boudoir photographer.

And, because my client's photo privacy is something I hold sacred, I will share a few illustrations of how my couple's boudoir images resonate...It will give you an idea of how fun and incredibly special this day was for all involved.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR BOUDOIR SHOOT

New Year's Eve is upon us. How about a little game of... TRUTH OR DARE? 

TRUTH=  

I believe, wholeheartedly, 1000%, irrevocably, that you are perfect to me, and I can photograph you right now. You do not need to prepare at all.

Every individual has an element of beauty that is invisible to themselves. I can see it. I always see it. EVERY SHOOT, EVERY CLIENT. I want to capture the beautiful sensual person you are TODAY. And then again tomorrow. And maybe even next year, if you'll indulge me.

But time and time again, my new and prospective clients hit me with that old cliche...

"I am just nowhere near boudoir-ready."

Boudoir Ready? What is that? To me, it is NOT about perfection. It is not about looking like a Victoria's Secret model... 

It IS about celebrating confidence. Allowing yourself to feel a little vulnerable. Taking a leap of faith that you just might be pretty spectacular. And, it's a chance to open yourself up to something extraordinary. (Not to mention kick one off the bucket list). 

Ok, so "I'm not boudoir ready"... That phrase might be YOUR imagined truth. (I still don't believe it, but OK.)  So then, I offer you this...

I dare you, to book your shoot, and in 21 Days, get into amazing shape...Feel as gorgeous and confident as ever. Go ahead I dare you. Seem too hard? If you think you need more than 21 Days, go ahead and take it. To me, progress is about having goals and just plowing through them.
